{"id":1951,"date":"2020-06-25T13:54:21","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T12:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hrteam.ie\/?p=1951"},"modified":"2022-09-30T11:03:36","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T10:03:36","slug":"returning-to-work-safely-after-covid-19-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hrteamservices.com\/en\/returning-to-work-safely-after-covid-19-lockdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Returning to work safely after Covid-19 lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the Irish Government has outlined its roadmap to re-open the country, many employers are now looking towards the future needs of their business and how best they can plan for their eventual return to work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Irish government has listed the following essential control measures that should be implemented in every business.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social distancing (ideally 2 metres).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal contact of less than 15 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good Hygiene (increased levels of cleaning surfaces and specifically hand hygiene).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you may be aware, the government has published a \u2018Return to Work Protocol\u2019. This document is a result of collaborative work<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), the Health Services Executive (HSE) and the Department of Health. The purpose of such a document is to provide support for employers and employees to put measures in place that will prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the workplace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Covid-19 is a dynamic and ever-changing situation that requires extensive planning by employers. Based on the Return to Work Safely Protocol, employers must ensure that their workers have a safe work environment by minimising the risks associated with Covid-19 where possible. Measures to achieve this include.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appointment of Lead Work Representative(s)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completion of<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Risk Assessments<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creation of a Covid-19 Response Plan<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee Return to Work Form<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Identification and Isolation of Suspected Cases of Covid-19 in the Workplace<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enforcing Social Distancing Measures<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providing Education and Training<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensuring Cleanliness and Hygiene<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have you revised each of these legal requirements to prepare to re<\/span>open your business?
