Fire Risk Assessments must be carried out by a competent fire risk assessor, and it uses the 5 steps of risk assessment:<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Identify people at risk.
\n\u2022 Evaluate, remove or reduce the risks.
\n\u2022 Record your findings, prepare an emergency plan and provide training.
\n\u2022 Review and update the fire risk assessment regularly.
\n\u2022 Consideration Must be given to assessing:
\n\u2022 Emergency routes and exits
\n\u2022 Fire detection and warning systems
\n\u2022 Firefighting equipment
\n\u2022 The removal or safe storage of dangerous substances
\n\u2022 An emergency fire evacuation plan
\n\u2022 The needs of vulnerable people, for example the elderly, young children or those with disabilities
\n\u2022 Providing information to employees and other people on the premises regarding fire safety training<\/p>\n
Fire Risk Assessment must be communicated to employees along with the emergency response plan to ensure that everyone on the premises knows what to do, not only to prevent the risk of fire, but also what to do in the event of a fire emergency.
